We're very excited to be able to present the sixth annual Hixon 50, now a 5k, 10k, 25k and 50k race through La Crosse's lush Hixon forest, nestled in the middle of bluff country. Enjoy views of the Mississippi River Valley from over 600 feet up in the air while tackling a challenging course in whichever distance you choose.

The Race within a Race:
Kwik Trip Klimb (25k and 50k ONLY) |
The Kwik Trip Klimb is an all day running time trial from the bottom of the bluff to the finish. It features approximately 500 ft of climbing on technical trail to finish the race. The Klimb features a prize for the top overall male and female for the entire day across both distances. 25k racers are coming in hot to the finish, but 50k racers get two shots at it. Who will Klimb the fastest!

Hixon Specific Training Guide
Race directors and Trail Transformation coaches Jake and Mike have developed Hixon 25K and 50K specific long term training guides.
What you get:
1. A 24-week calendar with specifically detailed workouts. The plan progresses with periodized phases to build your fitness, speed, and endurance so that you peak for the Hixon 50k/25k on Oct 27th.
2. A guide to help you understand each type of run.
3. Hixon 50 specific training advice released periodically to keep you on track for the big day!
This plan was created by Trail Transformation coaches Jake Hegge and Michael Borst. The Hixon 50k/25k training guide gives you specifics on how to do workouts at the right intensity for the most beneficial training. The training plan follows a progressive training load followed by periods of recovery to improve your fitness. We’ve used our knowledge of exercise science along with experience from coaching many others, to help you to reach your goals.
