Course Description
|
The 5k loop can be divided into 3 key sections:
Prairie: This top section makes up roughly 1 mile of the course and presents runners with gentle rolling hills right at the tree line of the forest. This is the section you will start and finish on. There will be occasional rocks and roots, but it will not be the most challenging part of the course. Singletrack: The majority of the course will take place on groomed dirt singletrack. This section of the course presents runners with more roots and rocks, but will be cleared of leaves to the best of our ability to help you see the trail beneath you. This section is all dirt and have several rolling hills with a few steeper descents and climbs thrown in. Abys Hill: This is the shortest section of the course, but presents runners with the biggest challenge of the course. In a short 1/4 mile section, runners will climb 250 feet before resuming the course on the regular singletrack. Even though this can be the hardest part of the race, it's often the most memorable. Nothing makes you prouder than conquering a challenge! |
